Tissue engineering creates biomaterials and scaffolds with different properties using various materials.
It then combines these scaffolds with biologically active molecules. Its basis is to heal damaged tissues and organs. Artificial skin and artificial cartilage approved by the FDA are tissue engineering products. Tissue engineering can be considered as a sub-branch of regenerative medicine. But nowadays they can be used interchangeably. With the development of technology and mental activities, the field of tissue engineering is rapidly developing itself. It can be used in medical applications, as well as in non-therapeutic areas, for example, biosensors, tissue chips used in the detection of biological and chemical agents.
